Is FLTECHS HIPAA certified?
There is no official HIPAA certification for IT companies, so be wary of anyone who claims one. What we do is help you put safeguards in place: access control, encryption, backups, audit logging and help with your risk assessment. For FlowPBX phone service, we sign a Business Associate Agreement.
Is FlowPBX a HIPAA compliant phone system?
FlowPBX is a HIPAA-ready phone system, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with medical and dental clients. Compliance also depends on how your practice uses it, so we help you set up user access, voicemail and recording settings to match your policies.
Can you help with a HIPAA risk assessment?
Yes. We review your devices, network, accounts, backups and email, document what we find and give you a prioritized list of fixes. Your practice remains responsible for its HIPAA program; we support it on the technical side.
Do you support dental imaging and practice-management software?
Yes. We support the imaging PCs, sensors, workstations, servers and network your software runs on, keep them patched and backed up, and coordinate with your software vendor when an issue is on their side.
Can we text appointment reminders to patients?
FlowPBX supports business texting. Reminders should include only what a patient needs, and patients should agree to receive texts, so we help you set up message templates that keep diagnoses and other sensitive details out of SMS.
Should patients use the same Wi-Fi as our staff?
No. We set up a separate guest network for waiting rooms, isolated from the staff network that carries patient records, imaging and payment systems. It protects your data and keeps patient browsing from slowing down your office.
